This firing the black brown is smother and shiny because I used porcelain clay. The brown is braking to black as the glaze was applied thicker then normal. The next firing will be different as I will go back to stoneware clay.

This is a very earthy and organic glaze. Some times I think I should sell it as "one of a kind" since this glaze is very sensitive to kiln conditions and its applied thickness. After each kiln load the coloring is different so I always post a representative photo from the last firing. The glaze is dry mat brown/black braking to reddish brown with yellowish olive green in the center of the lid and parts of the base. There is some variation from piece to piece.

This butter dish has a dark sienna brown over a buff white stoneware clay body. It varies somewhat within each firing and may be different from past firings so I post the most recent examples. This firing it is a consistent brown with dark brown specks and a slight hint of green.

This butter dish is made with a high iron stoneware clay. I use the same glaze as the stony white. but with the high iron clay the glaze coloring is created by the iron being pulled into the glaze during the reduction firing, causing a stony granite look.

Same glaze as the regular stony gray but when placed in the coolest part of the kiln it changes as less iron is drawn into the glaze from the clay and it becomes a dryer glaze. The glaze is slightly lighter and a little less fluid shiny then in the regular stony gray.

This is a buff white stoneware clay body under a clear glaze. It has a flower design in blue and black on the lid. Some of the glaze is affected by the stoneware clay underneath so there is a slight stony quality. The glaze may be affected and change by its placement in the kiln, causing some variation in hue. This butter dish is a stony version and similar to the porcelain white with blue flower design butter dish.

This butter dish has a teal and brown glaze over a buff white stoneware clay body. There is some color variation from piece to piece as the glaze is sensitive to temperature difference inside the kiln.
