TESTIMONIALS

Hello Jim,
I just wanted to let you know that I love my butter crock.  The design of the crock is perfect because it can go from kitchen to table, and as an amateur potter I really appreciate your glazes. Congratulations on a beautiful, functional product.
Sincerely,
Judith

Variations from Copper Red glazes

Variations from Copper Red glazes

Reduction fired copper glazes are the hardest glazes to fire. Copper can create some wonderful reds that never look exactly the same from piece to piece. The color intensity is dependent on exactly where the piece sat in the kiln and how much oxygen was available at each temperature range as the kiln heated up from cone 018 to cone 06 (1,319F to 1,828F). There is only one butter dish for each photo, since each is unique.

Some of these glazes never look the same from one firing to the next. Sometime we just like to have fun and try new things. There is only one butter dish for each photo, since each is unique.
